Service Description: This GIS service is intended to provide locations and details on Ohio EPA Chloride Reduction Grant projects undertaken in Ohio. Funding sources include the H2Ohio Rivers Program.
In December 2023, Ohio EPA announced the Chloride Reduction Program as part of the H2Ohio Rivers Program. The program aims to help communities upgrade road salt infrastructure and equipment to reduce the amount of salt runoff impacting Ohio surface and ground water resources.
Reducing chloride in water is important for the health of freshwater ecosystems, keeping our fish and plants healthy. DISCLAIMER: This GIS service is provided as a reference tool only. It is intended to present Chloride Reduction project locations in a convenient GIS format. Ohio EPA has endeavored to display this data accurately but 100% accuracy cannot be guaranteed. For a complete listing of Chloride Reduction projects, please follow the procedures outlined on our Public Records Request and File Reviews webpage.
